Monk isnt too useful as a derv secondary. Go with war for good damage skills like Wild Blow. Most derv bars dont even use secondaries anyway.

Warrior is an excellent Dervish secondary. Monk isn't so great because of how energy-intensive it is and the fact that stopping to cast lowers your DPS.
Wild Blow is actually one of the best attacks a Dervish can get. The extremely high max damage of a Scythe is what is used to calculate the damage from a critical hit, and Wild Blow is a guaranteed crit plus stance canceler on an 8-second cooldown. There are some excellent Tactics skills that can provide you with some non-enchantment defense for locations where there are a lot of enemies with strip skills.

[wild blow], [distracting blow], and [for great justice] can all be great in a dervish skillbar -- and don't require you to take any attribute points away from your dervish attributes

Umm... sorry? How exactly is FGJ useful for a Dervish? You're not going to be relying on adrenal skills in pretty much any common build I can think of...

An unusual choice perhaps, but when running Discordway heroes in HM I play as a D/N.
Myst 12+1+2 Curses 12
Curses 20/20 +15 staff
Pain Inverter
Technobabble
Shadow of Fear
Enfeebling Blood
Weaken Armour
Rend Enchants or Defile Flesh
Eternal Aura
Avatar of Lyssa
With constant Lyssa + Radient insigs you have a large enough energy pool to last out most battles without running short, with high mysticism and aegis, dwaya's sorrow and the occasional PS and HB enchants providing you with +5 each on expiration.
The AoE melee shutdown hexing and condition spamming sets up the necros for discord spamming really nicely. The build can probably be improved, but it's good enough for me to have vanquished most of the world and HM missions, and normally draws a few comments (normally "D/N noooobie" sigh).
I find it a nice change from playing the obvious melee Derv cookie cutters.

Personally I use a nasty Splinter/Regen build, with a ritualist as secondary class.
Quite simply, the synergies are par none. First of all you have the scythe, which hits in a narrow spread. I have a few points in channeling for splinter which hits adjacent enemies to whatever is hit. So right there, say i have a mob, the scythe hits the three in front of me, and the splinter hits another three around them. Next, i have an enchantment to increase attack speed, and add burnign when it ends, and enchantment that give me +xxx health per enchantment for each hit. I have zealous renewal, which does damage on casting and then +energy for each hit while it was active. Avatar of balthazar for +40 armor and increased speed. Armor-wise my pieces all have windwaker sigs, which add +5 armor for each enchantment to a max of 25 i believe. And then i have a few scythe skills to round it out, to deal extra damage to the primary target, one which gives health on hit, and the other which adds energy.
So overall, i'm a monster in mobs, with a total of +65 armor at any given time, I hit about 6-10 enemies and get 45 health from each one. I hit with increased speed, and get health and energy constantly. Oh yeah and i forgot eternal aura, so balthazar is PERMANENT.

I too have been looking for a secondary profession for my new Dervish as well. It seems that the other classes do not meld well with Dervish though :/ I plan on PvEing this Dervish all the way through all the campaigns.
Warrior for Wild Blow + some other skills.
I see someone above did not like taking Monk, but that seems to be another viable option. Especially if you wanted to go 130 Dervish.
Ranger for possibly Apply Poison?
Ele for conjures? Earth defenses?
Warrior is clearly the best option though IMO.

Ahh, I see. Whether it justifies a spot on the already-cramped skill bar is, I guess, up for debate, but those two skills could feasibly make good supplements.

Would elementalist be a good secondary? I'm also looking for a second job and was thinking either elementalist or Warrior.

Warrior as a secondary is more useful, but monk as a secondary is good for farming builds like the 130HP Dervish.
